Westcoast agrees distribution partnership for Future Tech division

Westcoast has partnered with Drone Volt and Aerialtronics which will see the newly-launched Westcoast Future Tech division, stock and distribute the portfolio of commercial drones and technical payloads, developed by Aerialtronics, while also using their position as a trusted partner of businesses across the UK, to give Drone Volt and Aerialtronics the capacity it needs to grow.

The business will also launch a drone academy to provide professional-level training and best-practice usage techniques to resellers and end-users, ensuring they have qualified staff to take advantage of this growing market sector.

The public perception of the use of drones has suffered in recent months, due to several high-profile incidents involving consumer drones. The academy will train pilots to ensure they have the correct skills and knowledge of the regulations and controls, ensuring they can safely operate commercial drones.

One of the key reasons why Westcoast partnered with Drone Volt and Aerialtronics is their handling of data security, something very pertinent for a majority of the expanding base of companies using drones. All of their products are made in the EU, offering 100 per cent data secure connections with the user being in full control of the data collected. The majority of rival drone companies cannot make the same claims about security.

Drone Volt and Aerialtronics are specialists in the manufacture and use of secure drones for professional purposes. The French company has, since 2011, designed and delivered new technology for aerial and ground-based drones that use IoT and AI technologies, such as the proprietary Pensar AR camera, to provide better results and business insights.

Westcoast's experience working with public focused resellers, as well as its expertise in cloud-based business, provides additional peace of mind to resellers and customers that the solutions offered will ensure they are informed of any potential exposure, as well as making sure their data is kept safe.

Ashely Watts, Accessories Director at Westcoast said, "drones are a technology we have been interested in for a while, particularly in the commercial sector where our distribution expertise can add real value. The drone academy we're building with Drone Volt is the perfect way for us to provide a better experience for the commercial channel while distributing drones that live up to the high security and quality standards we expect of every product we sell. I'm excited to see what the future holds for the academy."

Marcel de Graaf, Vice President of Sales for Drone Volt added, "we look forward to a working relationship between both companies where innovative technology meets professional distribution."
