Tech Data has deployed what is thought to be a unique partner offering for the testing of multi-cloud management solutions, giving cloud services providers and aggregators, ISVs, and enterprise resellers a platform on which to explore different approaches to managing dynamic hybrid infrastructures.
A team of experts at Tech Data have built the sandbox using the Red Hat OpenShift container platform. The work is part of Tech Data’s Multi-Cloud Project, which aims to enable partners to experiment, learn, develop, and test next-generation multi-cloud technologies, including Red Hat’s OpenShift. In addition, this project will bring partners with complementary capabilities together in an ecosystem that will enable effective development and delivery of environments built on IBM’s CloudPak for Multicloud Management solution.
Richard Hampson, Business Manager – Hybrid Cloud at Tech Data, UK said, “enterprises are now looking to make use of multiple cloud systems on which they can deploy different applications and services. They need to manage and control those deployments effectively and securely and ensure they are getting the best value at all times. The scenarios will be complex and entirely different for every customer. Our sandbox will enable partners to test and build multi-cloud management use-cases ahead of full deployment.”
Tech Data is aiming to build an ecosystem of partners that have different, but complementary skills in public cloud solutions and microservices development, and ‘anchor’ resellers that have access to key customer bases. A dedicated site for the Multi-Cloud Project is under development and will be available via the Tech Data Trusted Advisor site – see http://trustedadvisor.techdata.co.uk/
A number of online webinars, workshops and events are also planned for the Multi-Cloud Project.
