Kent-based Tangent Office Resources has joined forces with Wellbeing Practitioners, RevitaliseU-Kent, to help customers become compliant with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, by conducting DSE assessments.
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) states that employers must protect workers from the risk of developing back pain at work due to being in one position for a long time or from working with display screen equipment (with poor posture).
Jo and Laura of RevitaliseU-Kent said, “We are really looking forward to working with Chandra and Tangent Office Resources. By collaborating in providing DSE assessments we are able to work with more businesses to help employees understand about their own self-care whilst they work at home or at the office. For businesses, it is now more important than ever to look after employees' physical and mental health.”
Chandra Sharma of Tangent Office Resources, a member of Integra Business Solutions Ltd added, “We are really excited to work with Jo and Laura to help staff get back to work safely and to reduce incidents of back pain and improve productivity.”
Neck, wrist, and arm pain can affect people who work at a computer all day. Studies have shown that ‘static sitting’ at a workstation, for prolonged periods of time, can be a major cause of multiple ailments including the increased risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, as well as creating tension in our backs. The human form was simply not designed to sit in the same position for extended timeframes.
In their ‘Work with display screen equipment, guidance on regulations’ booklet, the HSE state ‘Taking action is likely to be cost-effective for employers, for example by reducing sickness absences, improving work performance and avoiding compensation claims.’
Comprehensive online DSE assessments start from £65 plus VAT per employee. Contact 0800 781 2163 for more information.
