Renz launches protective face shields

RENZ is putting its technical know-how and production expertise to good use by producing Protective Face Shields to help with the supply of Personal Protective Equipment and aid containment of the Coronavirus.

After a downturn in order intake from mid-March, Renz made the decision in early April to produce the face shields. Over the Easter weekend, a collaborative effort led to marketing collateral being developed and manufacturing commenced on 11th April.

Renz decided to produce a lightweight high-quality Protective Face Shield which on 17th April received official certification from ECS GmbH, the European Certification Service.

Initially, the shields went almost exclusively to the health sector but during the course of the week commencing Monday 20th April the private sector (mainly construction and manufacturing) started purchasing in readiness to bring staff back into the workplace.

Renz said, "it has all happened so quickly, within the space of just two weeks we are manufacturing and supplying in huge quantities a brand-new product into totally different markets to our traditional print and office products sectors. This new business is gratefully received as sales order intake from our two traditional markets is down across the board nearly 75 per cent since lockdown began on 23rd March, compared with the same five-week period to Friday 24th April.

"Our face shields cover the face area (eyes, nose and mouth) extensively. The headband is easily adjustable for a perfect fit and surgical masks can be changed without removing the Protective Face Shield. The shield is held far enough away from the face for glasses to be worn. With 15mm forehead padding, the RENZ Face Protection Shield is both comfortable and hard-wearing. Replacement shields are available."
