The Navigator Company has completed the acquisition of all shares representing the share capital of GOMÀ-CAMPS CONSUMER, S.L.U, and the French company GOMÀ-CAMPS FRANCE SAS, owned until now by one of the oldest Spanish family businesses producing paper for more than 260 years.
The acquisition of the Consumer Tissue business of the Gomà-Camps Group is part of the growth and diversification plan of the Navigator Group, becoming the second largest player in the Iberian tissue market in 8 years, with an annual production capacity of 165 thousand tons.
With the acquisition now completed, Navigator increases the existing tissue production capacity in Aveiro and Vila Velha de Ródão with the Ejea de los Caballeros plant in the vicinity of Zaragoza, providing 35,000 tons more of paper production and up to 60,000 tons of finished products.
The geographical situation of the Spanish manufacturing unit, in addition to contributing to a more optimised management of the Iberian customer portfolio, also makes it possible to come closer to European markets outside Iberia, tapping new businesses in Spain and France, namely through the supply of ample food retail chains.
This operation will also allow the integration of talent, experience, working methods, and excellence in the execution of the 151 professionals of the GC Consumer unit, thus enabling Navigator to keep enhancing the appreciation of the talent of its employees and ensure access to new professional development opportunities.
Integrating the new plant will contribute to accelerated growth in the tissue business. Navigator estimations point to around €300 million in consolidated sales of high-quality tissue paper, making the most of the advantages and competitiveness provided by the development of vertically integrated operations.
