International Paper’s HP Office ‘Pink Ream’ continues into 2018

International Paper has announced it will continue its Pink Ream campaign in support of saving lives from breast cancer. International Paper is collaborating this year with Think Pink Europe, which brings together national breast cancer initiatives across the continent.

The Pink Ream campaign was launched in Europe in 2017 with distinctive, specially designed packaging for reams of HP Office paper. For each Pink Ream sold in the UK International Paper donated £0.10 to programmes focusing on breast cancer research, awareness and prevention. A total of €198,000 was contributed across Europe.

Think Pink Europe, International Paper's partner in the 2018 campaign, unites over a dozen national breast cancer organisations, with the list still growing. All across Europe, local breast cancer organisations, hospitals, support groups and governmental organisations are aiming for the same objective: funding research and raising awareness to tackle breast cancer. Among the many activities supported by Think Pink Europe, their flagship initiative is The Race for the Cure, the world's biggest walking and running event in the fight against breast cancer.

The HP Office Pink Ream will be available throughout October (which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month). International Paper has again committed to a minimum contribution of €100,000. Of the total amount raised, 80 per cent will be donated to local associations and 20 per cent will be invested in programmes through Think Pink Europe.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Europe. It affects one in eight women, with 500,000 cases diagnosed annually and 130,000 deaths every year. The risk of contracting the disease can be reduced from 30 to 40 per cent by focusing on modifiable risk factors, such as obesity, alcohol consumption, nutrition and exercise.
