Ingram Micro Cloud and SUSE launch partnership in the UK and Ireland

Ingram Micro has announced the partnership of Ingram Micro Cloud and SUSE, an independent open source software company. Having a long and established relationship with Ingram Micro globally, this move helps both organisations extend their reach within the UK and Ireland partner base.

As SUSE is already a heavily partner-focused vendor, with over 95 per cent of UK and Ireland revenue flowing through the channel, the relationship with Ingram Micro will only strengthen and grow the market for open source solutions.

The partnership seeks to extend Ingram Micro Cloud's extensive portfolio of Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions and LifeCycle Migration Services. SUSE will provide Ingram Micro with leading enterprise-grade, open source solutions for Linux, software-defined infrastructure and application delivery. This further establishes Ingram as an enabler for digital transformation.

Jeff Kirkpatrick, UK&I Channel Director at SUSE said, "SUSE's strong business growth is tightly connected to our channel, underlining how crucial our partnerships are to both distributors and resellers. Together with Ingram Micro, we intend to create a best-of-breed open source channel for the UK and Ireland, supporting partners as they build and grow these new revenue streams."

The partnership is a valuable move forward in strengthening IaaS channel capabilities. By offering partners this additional support, they can quickly scale their cloud businesses.

Scott Murphy, Director of Cloud and Advanced Solutions, Ingram Micro UK&I added, "adding SUSE to our portfolio helps our partners drive open source Linux solutions into their client base. It supports our cloud-first, hybrid approach. With the requirement for SAP HANA to run on Linux, it represents a substantial opportunity to accelerate public cloud consumption. We'll be wrapping services to help partners move existing SAP HANA instances to Cloud and are very excited to offer incremental opportunities for all our partners with SUSE."

Open source is enabling digital transformation and SUSE solutions are making this easier and more cost-effective for businesses today. This means that resellers, VARs and ISVs need the right skills to help customers on this open source journey as they deploy technologies such as software containers, management platforms for Kubernetes, Container-as-a-Service platforms and PaaS implementations like Cloud Foundry.

On November 1st 2019, this partnership between Ingram Micro Cloud and SUSE will launch for resellers, VARs and ISVs.
