HP shake up business mobility with new innovation

HP have launched, what they believe is, the first built-for-business mobile device to offer phablet, laptop and desktop business productivity in a single device.

The new HP Elite x3 with Windows 10 mobile is hoping to be the solution for businesses on the go, with no compromises on functionality in each of its modes. It will use the latest innovations from Microsoft, Qualcomm Technologies and Salesforce to provide the 'next generation of computing' and meet user expectations.

Dion Weisler, President and Chief Exec Officer, HP Inc. said, "commercial mobility is prime for disruption, and has never seen innovation at this scale. The HP Elite x3 is a revolutionary mobile platform that enables mobility and computing to come together in a truly meaningful way. Together with the strength of our partners, we're propelling the industry forward and turning the promise of mobile productivity into a reality for customers."

Key Features include:

Continuum in Windows 10 offers multi-screen transitions between a phone and desktop PC.

Optional HP Desk Dock with wired Ethernet

Optional Mobile Extender where no data is stored for security

Faster charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Technology

HP Workspace allows access to apps

Full keyboard and mouse experience when using Desk Dock or Mobile Extender

Partnered with CRM platform, Salesforce.

Michael Park, VP and GM of Mobility, HP Inc. added, "our customer insights indicated that there are a group of commercial customers where their needs for mobility and PC-level productivity are not being met. The HP Elite x3 is where we see the future of computing heading – one device that can truly act like every device."

The HP Elite x3 will be available this summer and will be complemented by the release of two mobile printers by HP, one in April and one later on in the year.

Industrial automation makes way for information automation
Today, most manufacturing processes are automated on some level, and only growing more so. But can the same be said for our cognitive activities and information-related processes? Collecting, analysing, and extracting value from data is surely the next step in optimising industrial processes, yet the way it is currently treated in terms of technological investment and prioritisation would suggest otherwise. This is according to Jason Chester, Director of Global Channel Programs, InfinityQS.
