ECS says ‘Buy British and be cautious’ following recent ECHA report

The recent report published by ECHA examined a number of products imported into the EU, discovering that 23 per cent of said products were non-compliant with REACH and CLP. These products contained illegal amounts of hazardous substances that are restricted in the EU and therefore unable to be placed onto the market by law.

Effective Consumable Solutions stated that its products are both REACH and CLP compliant as well as COSHH and RoHS compliant. The company stated that as a British remanufacturer its products adhere to all necessary regulations and always look to have an as little negative impact on the environment as possible, hence their compliance with REACH, COSHH and RoHS.

Felicity Rabbitte, CEO said, "funding the British economy is extremely important during these difficult times and is vital in order to keep workers in Britain employed. Buying British products does this and ensures that money is reinvested into our own economy, rather than overseas. In return, the consumer receives a product that is renowned for being high quality, made by one of the top remanufacturers in the world. Alongside REACH, COSHH, RoHS and CLP, we've also achieved ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, which gives our consumers extra confidence about the quality, performance and reliability of our products."

ECS concluded by explaining that consumers should be careful where their products are bought from, as products bought from overseas are often misleading, or can fail to meet specific requirements as seen in ECHA's report. ECS also warned that while British manufactured and remanufactured products do come with a great reputation, there are some distributors who will take advantage of cheap foreign labour, or simply source products from abroad and name them as their own.

Chris Fink, Director added, "fortunately, there are some steps that can be taken by true British remanufacturers like ourselves to provide our customers with peace of mind and confidence that our products are truly British, such as our association with Made in Britain. We also invite our Partners to visit our state-of-the-art remanufacturing and recycling facilities to see our processes in action."
