DURABLE has been shortlisted for a UKWA Award for its environmental credentials. The Awards recognise excellence across companies operating within the logistics industry. In becoming a finalist for the Environmental Award, DURABLE has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
DURABLE has taken several steps to reduce its environmental impact including making continual improvements to its manufacturing processes as well as installing solar panels, energy recovery systems, and energy-efficient lighting.
Sam Rylands, Marketing Manager at DURABLE said, “we’re delighted to be shortlisted for this award and recognised for our environmental work. As a plastics manufacturer we work extremely hard to minimise the impact of our operations on the environment.”
In 2010, DURABLE also implemented Lean Management to improve lead times, inventory and delivery performance. DURABLE shared its experiences in a Think Lean guide which is available on their website.
The annual UKWA Awards ceremony will take place in London on Thursday 27th June 2019 and will be attended by HRH the Princess Royal to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
