The Climb of Life (COL), the industry’s major charity fundraiser for the Institute of Cancer Research, takes place on Friday 2th November 2018 and Channel Info is, once again, a main media sponsor. We need your support to help raise valuable funds for the oh so wonderful Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Channel Info’s Jon Morton will be taking on the challenging trek for the first time and would be very grateful for your support.
There will be 120 trekkers heading up into the hills in very tough conditions. The theme for 2018 is: ‘The £1 Mill Mountain Challenge 4 ICR’. The event has raised a staggering £100,000 over the last four years and if that happens again this year, we will reach the magical £1,000,000 for the Institute of Cancer Research.
Organised by Graeme Chapman MBE, and his invaluable team, for the past 31 years and prior to the switch to the ICR 12 years ago, it was for Children in Need. The combined total for all of those years is £1.6 million!
Professor Paul Workman, the ICR CEO and President will again be trekking with the group and making an address to update the group on the ICR's invaluable work on finding new cures for cancer.
The ICR is seen as one of the most successful organisations in the world for making discoveries that help create more and better drugs to help defeat cancer. One third of the UK population will suffer with Cancer at some point, which is why the ICR is committed to finding cures. Thanks to bodies like the ICR, less than one third of the people who do get it actually die from cancer.
