Brother UK launches inkjet range for hybrid working

Brother UK has launched a new series of A4 business inkjets designed for small businesses and home offices to help resellers capitalise on the shift to hybrid working.

The new A4 Mini Business series brings four new models to the vendor's inkjet lineup. The launch comes as demand for A4 inkjet printers increased by 51 per cent in 2020; with new research revealing that remote workers will represent 32 per cent of all employees worldwide by the end of 2021, up from 19 per cent in 2019.

The new devices include three mid-range A4 business inkjet models, which feature wireless connectivity as standard, automatic two-sided printing, and speeds of up to 20 inches per minute. The business-focused devices also come with extensive in-box supplies, with 3,000 black and 1,500 colour pages of ink and optional 6,000-page black and 5,000-page colour cartridges also available, all designed to reduce printing costs.

The flagship MFC-J4540DW can be operated via a 6.8 cm LCD touchscreen display, with near-field communication technology supporting contactless secure ID pull print. It also features a 400-page paper input for users with higher volume print requirements.

Customers can also upgrade to the All in Box package (MFC-J4540DW XL), which helps users to save money on printing costs by providing 6,000 black and 5,000 colour pages of ink – equivalent to up to three years' worth of supplies – plus the reassurance of a three-year warranty on this model.

All new models can be operated by the new Brother Mobile Connect app, which allows users to send a file to print from anywhere at any time. Available on iOS and Android, it also helps users to easily share and review scanned documents, and to monitor their ink levels and order replacement supplies directly via the app.

Russell Brown, Head of sales – SOHO business unit, at Brother UK said, "businesses' printing needs are changing as companies transform how their employees work.

"This new range of A4 inkjets is designed to support the changing world of work, from the shift to decentralised print in offices to providing people with a business-grade printer for the home office and small workspaces to boost their productivity.

"Effective hybrid working will depend on reliable, secure devices that can deliver high-performance and cost-efficient printing, and the new range will provide our channel partners with devices that neatly meet the sharp shift in customer demand.

"The A4 Mini Business inkjet launch represents how we're refreshing our inkjet line-up with devices designed for hybrid workplaces and remote working, ensuring that partners have the best devices and support to pivot towards new supply opportunities."

The launch also sees Brother UK introduce the MFC-J4340DW and a compact Mini inkjet model (DCP-J1200W) operated entirely via Brother Mobile Connect, or wirelessly by a PC. Three new Mini Regular entry-level A4 inkjet devices are also slated to launch in September (DCP-J1050DW, MFC-J1010DW and DCP-J1140DW). The affordable models are specifically targeted at people with simpler printing needs around the home, such as boarding passes or children's homework.

While supplying solutions to facilitate remote working, Brother UK is itself transitioning to a hybrid arrangement for employees.
