The Climb of Life (COL), the industry’s major charity fundraiser for the Institute of Cancer Research, took place on Friday 8th November 2019 in the Lake District and Channel Info was, once again, a main media partner.
It was another record-breaking year, with the brave 120 trekkers raising £104,315, exceeding last year’s total of £103,000, raising vital funds for the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
The theme for this year was 2 Million Steps forward in the battle against cancer, with all the trekkers taking part looking to rack up 2 million steps between them on the day. That target was well and truly smashed with the pedometer hitting 2,760,008!
Channel Info’s own Jon Morton, aka Morts on Sports, took part in this year’s challenging event for the second time, taking on and conquering the Langdale Pikes. He commented, “a huge congratulations to everyone who took part in this year’s Climb of Life, another amazing achievement from all involved and a massive thank you to all who supported this fantastic cause, supporting the ICR's invaluable work on finding new cures for cancer.”
