ACCO UK will be supporting a Northampton-based charity which is helping the lives of young people and their local communities.
The creation of the Northampton Saints Foundation was to facilitate the on-going support of young people, which began in 1880, and has been a deep-rooted part of Northampton RFC ever since. The foundation runs a range of stimulating programmes, including Engage, which works with students who struggle in education or face exclusion. Through practical and classroom-based activities, the team help build students’ confidence and equip them with valuable skills for their future.
The staff at the foundation also run HITZ, Premiership Rugby’s education and employability programme. Using core rugby values, the team supports young people to enter education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment. As a result of all combined programmes, the Northampton Saints Foundation has supported more than 5,000 students across Northamptonshire each year.
Matt Goode, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, Northampton Saints Foundation said, “to continue our mission and help create positive change, the charity needs skills, people, resources and facilities. We are very grateful that ACCO UK has helped us meet this requirement, with a generous donation of some fantastic products, such as Nobo glass whiteboards, Rexel Auto Feed shredders, and general office products. These resources enable us to be more efficient, and boost creativity in the classroom.”
ACCO’s contributions to the charity included a Nobo’s new widescreen whiteboard in the premium white glass surface and a Rexel Auto Feed shredder. The shredder will provide an efficient way for the Foundation to ensure a secure and fraud-free environment, which is essential in an organisation that deals with personal data and sensitive information.
Elisabete Wells, Regional Marketing Manager, ACCO UK added, “we are so impressed with the incredible work that the foundation does for young people and their local communities. Their efforts to encourage young people to achieve best possible outcomes are magnificent. We hope the resources we contributed can make the life of the remarkable individuals who run the programmes that little bit easier, or even spark a bit of creativity and colour in the classroom. We look forward to supporting the foundation further in the future.”
