Toshiba enhances connectivity and security for business laptops

Toshiba Client Solutions Europe has announced a host of upgrades to three devices within its Satellite Pro and Tecra 15" series of laptops, focused on enabling immediate connectivity, enhanced security and efficient mobile working. The refreshed products launching today are the Satellite Pro R50-EC, Satellite Pro A50-EC and Tecra A50-EC.

Toshiba has announced the addition of a cutting-edge USB-C port. This allows for USB 3.1 connectivity and subsequently increased data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. It is also an increasingly common port to connect with a growing range of peripherals including Toshiba's optional USB-C Dock, which enables immediate connectivity with other devices, and can extend hard drive space with the use of Toshiba's external storage drives.

Damian Jaume, Managing Director, Toshiba Client Solutions Europesaid, "these cutting-edge updates to devices in our business range demonstrate our goal to provide the fastest, most powerful, secure and functional laptops for professionals on the move. We understand that working patterns are evolving and we want to ensure that our technology moves in tandem with those shifts. These updates deliver the right mix of convenience, connectivity and robust security for the contemporary business user."

Featuring multiple layers of security, such as HDD password and Advanced Encryption (TPM 2.0), users of the Satellite Pro A50-EC can now enjoy the option of SecurePad with Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensor, a new touchpad with a built-in fingerprint sensor. In addition to including the optional SecurePad, the Tecra A50-EC also features an IR camera which enables optional facial authentication via Intel Authenticate and Windows Hello face sign-in. The presence of these biometric features provides an added-layer of protection to the already highly-secure E-Generation series.

Alongside these security options, the Tecra A50-EC's silent heavy-typer keyboard  is now backlit, offering the flexibility to type efficiently and accurately, even when in non-optimal lighting environments. Built for today's mobile worker, these ultra-portable products all also boast battery life of up to 10.5 hours for uninterrupted productivity throughout the day, no matter the location.

Performance and efficiency are maximised by the power of up to an 8th Generation Intel Core processor. These latest Satellite Pro A50-EC, Satellite Pro R50-EC and Tecra A50-EC models underline Toshiba's expertise in the B2B PC space, delivering robust yet practical devices which are designed to be ultra-mobile without compromising on high power or performance.
