• Synertec chooses Canon in ‘record’ imagePRESS C850 deal

        • Canon has secured its largest order of imagePRESS C850 digital production presses with investment in 85 units by consultancy, Synertec. One device has been installed at the company’s headquarters in Wellington, Somerset, with the further 84 split between its production sites in Bristol and Warrington.

The Canon sales, service and business development team approach was crucial in securing the agreement with Synertec, that will help with business transformation and growth opportunities. Experts from the UK, Europe and Canon’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, joined forces for the complex technical evaluation and negotiations over 15 months, to help Synertec invest wisely in a deal that will be worth around £5million over three years.

Synertec cited equipment capabilities and performance, project team expertise and responsiveness alongside a sound financial proposition, for its reasons behind appointing Canon as its new business partner. Synertec, with a turnover expected to grow in excess of 20 per cent annually, currently produces around 14 million impressions per month on the imagePRESS C850s.

The Canon imagePRESS C850 was launched into the flagship imagePRESS range in September 2016 as a result of customer requests for more quality focused and flexible production presses. Its ability to automatically switch from simplex to duplex, known as super-plex printing, whilst retaining order integrity, along with class leading productivity, was very much a deciding factor.

Mark Baldock, Managing Director of Synertec said, “Canon came out top in every set of criteria and we’ve been delighted with how this partnership has progressed. The speed of response, knowledge and professionalism of the teams has been outstanding. Our rapid growth created the need to re-evaluate our print offering. We needed to expand capacity and invest wisely.”

Synertec has over 500 clients in various industries and specialises in outsourced communication including printing, folding and mailing, alongside electronic distribution of time-critical correspondence for the private sector and NHS patient communication.

Duncan Smith, Director of Industrial and Production Solutions at Canon UK added, “we strive to find new ways to enable our clients to face the future in a climate where change is constant and fast-moving. Synertec is a perfect example of Canon’s collaborative approach to working with customers, enabling them to uncover gains in efficiency and productivity to ultimately improve their margins and make the most of their equipment. Our world-class technology and customer centric approach help make that possible.”
