Advantia member, Swift Business Solutions, organised a Family Fun Day on the 4th September, in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance raising much needed funds.
West Midlands-based, Swift, has been supporting Midlands Air Ambulance as their nominated charity for 2016 with regular fund raising activities. The Family Fun Day, in partnership with Midland Karting Centre, marked Swift’s largest fund raiser so far for the charity.
Money was raised through a car boot, on-line auction, go-karting, lots of children’s activities and donations from the many people who attended. The Midlands Air Ambulance were also there with a stand and staff to also support the event.
Sarah Grice, Operations & Development Director, Swift Business Solutions said, “we were determined to make the Family Fun Day a success so we spent a lot of time organising the event and making sure there were lots of activities for all ages. We also heavily marketed the event via email and social media to our customers and our network of suppliers and business contacts in the Midlands area.
“We felt that Midlands Air Ambulance was a well-known local charity doing fantastic work, and the area they cover is our own main operating area so we feel that by supporting the air ambulance we are supporting our customers too.”
Midlands Air Ambulance operates three air ambulances across the West Midlands, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire getting patients to hospital within the ‘Golden Hour’ which is 60 minutes after their injury which dramatically increases the patient’s chances of survival. Each Midlands Air Ambulance mission costs £2,500 and more than £7 million is needed every year to keep the service in the air.
