As part of its 'The Power of Stripes' marketing campaign, STAEDTLER encouraged young people to use the power of its iconic yellow-and-black 'Noris' pencil for good in the lead-up to Back-to-School.
Visitors to the Creation Skate Park in Birmingham were greeted by thousands of feel-good messages written on coloured sticky notes and given the opportunity to write their own 'Note of Kindness' to add to the collection, or to pass one along to someone in need of a pick-me-up, encouraging the ongoing spread of kindness and positivity.
Supporting the cause is anti-bullying charity, Kidscape, which offers practical support and advice to families across the UK who are affected by bullying. STAEDTLER is calling on people to donate £1.00 to Kidscape for every Note of Kindness shared.
Natalie O'Rourke-Jones, Marketing Manager at STAEDTLER UK said, "Back to School can be a very scary time for many children and teens across the UK as they get ready to make new friends and change classes or schools.
"As one of the UK's leading school stationery suppliers, we wanted to help make the process a little easier this year by working with UK-wide anti-bullying charity, Kidscape, to spread some kindness through our Power of Stripes marketing campaign.
"It's been encouraging to see such lovely young people here today with so much kindness to give. We hope they inspire others to get involved by sharing a little love and positivity this summer."
Lauren Seager-Smith, CEO at Kidscape added, "kindness is obviously a key tool in combatting bullying – and to help those who are suffering to feel cared for, and better about themselves. A small, kind message can really go a long way in these situations, and if we can encourage more people to spread kindness the movement could have a huge impact.
"It's fantastic to see a household brand like STAEDTLER using their product for good and we'd really encourage people that take part to donate just £1.00 to Kidscape which will allow us to continue to provide much-needed practical advice and on-the-ground support to families affected by bullying."
