SPOT Group reveals plans for H2 to suppliers and customers

SPOT has revealed plans for further investment, confirmed new business wins and provided an update on the progress of its current strategy. The SPOT briefing was attended by suppliers and customers at the recently held annual sailing regatta on the Solent.

Group CEO, Jeff Whiteway gave an open address on the group's performance, sharing details of the positive progress being achieved through further investment into key areas including the logistics network and marketing team. Jeff highlighted the key initiatives over the past 12 months that have helped achieve steady growth and new business wins within Spicers. This included the launch of the Alliance Programme and a revised strategy for Brilliant Partners, all focused around the main routes to growth – retention, gap fill and new business.

Rick Jones, SPOT Group Operations Director then showcased the £4m investment in systems and physical infrastructure made across the SPOT network in particular at Spicers Birmingham, Manchester and Greenwich distribution centres. These developments enable Spicers to provide a complete fulfilment solution for their Alliance customers, broader product ranges for resellers and their end-users; and a wider choice of delivery options with the OfficeFleet 'last mile' delivery service. Rick confirmed further investment and development to provide technology for an enhanced customer experience through the OfficeFleet delivery network. Specifically, allowing optimised customer delivery routes, push notifications to customers and real time electronic sign on glass.

An update by Richard Ford, Spicers Sales & Marketing Director, followed, highlighting further investment into the marketing team to help dealers and vendors grow sales; sharing details of the recent recruitment of Marketing Account Managers to further aid suppliers and dealers to directly influence end-user purchasing decisions. Having successfully delivered the Alliance programme, a complete outsourced solution for ambitious dealers, Ford confirmed the relaunch of the Brilliant Partners programme. Designed to facilitate business growth for forward-thinking dealers the new-look Brilliant Partners initiative will be launched over a series of events for dealers in September.

Jeff Whiteway, Group CEO said, "whether you're a wholesaler, a reseller or a supplier - we all have the same vision, which is to get products directly into the hands of the end user.  With such a complex supply chain, it is important for us to work collaboratively. Over the past two days, not only have we had some great fun, we have shown our suppliers and customers how we can achieve this. We have worked hard to build a solid operational structure that will support dealer growth and with the introduction of Marketing Account Managers into the Spicers team we can ensure the successful execution of marketing plans for dealers and suppliers."
