Spicers has announced that its OfficeFleet has been awarded Gold Fleet status by Masternaut in recognition of its green logistics.
Launched by Masternaut, the CO2 reduction programme rewards companies that go the extra mile to reduce the CO2 output of their fleets. By using data from vans’ fuel injectors and odometers, Masternaut is able to calculate the fuel efficiency of a fleet to compare against benchmarks that have been set by other Masternaut fleets.
Richard Lloyd, Group Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Manager at SPOT group said, “we are very proud to have been awarded Gold for our OfficeFleet vehicles as we are constantly taking steps to reduce our environmental impact.”
“As transportation has been recognised as the leading cause of greenhouse gases in the UK we are constantly looking at reviewing the ways we can reduce our carbon footprint and the impact of our delivery operations is part of this. All of our vans are fitted with Masternaut’s telematic devices which transmit data to aid fleet management.”
“We achieved a fantastic result and outperformed Masternaut’s benchmark by more than 5% and this equated to a total reduction of CO2 emissions of over 336kgs.”
