• Spicers announce new senior appointment of Ian Oakes

        • Wholesaler, Spicers have confirmed the appointment of Ian Oakes to the position of Regional Sales Director for the Southern Region.

Richard Ford, Spicers Sales & Marketing Director said, “with his background and understanding of Wholesaler and Dealer operations, Ian is the ideal individual to support the efforts of the Southern Sales region and be a senior advisor to our customers in the region.

His most recent role at Bunzl has also given Ian great insight and valuable knowledge of the Workplace Solutions marketplace, an area key to the continued growth of our business and that of our Dealer partners.”

Ian holds a long established industry background and has vast knowledge and 25+ years experience in the Office Supplies sector previously in senior roles within Dealer and Wholesale businesses and is also a past employee of Spicers, in the positions of Account Management, National Account Management and Regional Sales Management.

Richard added, “an investment in the right calibre and experienced candidate was paramount. By understanding the pressures, challenges and opportunities faced by a Dealer business, Ian is equipped and has the capacity to work well with our customers on a joint business acceleration strategy to ensure the exciting developments being implemented within Spicers services and products are utilised with our Dealer customers to drive both sales and profitability for both parties.”

Spicers continues to track positively against budget and reports good and consistent operational performance. Ian joins the Spicers business at the start of May 2016 and his appointment shows further evidence that Spicers are focused on providing the best level of support to their existing dealers as well as winning new business.
