As the clocks went back yesterday (30th October), ACCO Brands is looking to combat the fall in light levels with its range of Rexel ActiVita Daylight Lamps, designed to bring natural light back into the workplace.
With the UK expected to experience less than eight hours of light a day by the end of the year, the ActiVita Daylight Lamps utilise blue LEDs to improve user comfort and help to enhance concentration. The blue LEDs are said to simulate daylight which triggers brain activity, making the user feel more energetic and alert.
Chris Gaskell, Senior Director of Channel and Brand Marketing, ACCO Brands Europe said, "users will find that Rexel ActiVita Daylight Lamps provide a light source similar to daylight, helping them to avoid that afternoon dip in energy levels and concentration which we can all experience as winter sets in. Improving employee health and wellbeing is currently high on the business agenda and the Daylight Lamps have received a lot of attention and praise for the positive impact they can have on productivity levels in the workplace."
The Daylight Lamps are available in three models, each with a life of over 25 years (40,000 hours) with low levels of energy consumption. Models in the range can be adjusted for different purposes, including 'Daylight' that aims to boost alertness, 'Warm' that helps the mind to relax for activities such as reading and 'Cool' to brighten the workspace. LCD panels on the ActiVita Pod+ and Strip+ display a calendar, clock and temperature, with the added benefit of a USB port for charging mobile devices on the Strip+.
Launched in January, Rexel ActiVita Daylight Lamps have won several awards including a NEMO award, Corwell award in Czech Republic, an Office Oscar from OEN and a Benelux Office Award.
