Retirement for Colop's Chris Brown
After 50 years in the stamp industry, Chris Brown has now retired from Colop UK Ltd, formerly Mark C Brown Ltd.
Having remained as a director since handing over to his successor, Kiran D. Mistry MBA, in April 2010, a lot of changes have taken place. A successful move to Birmingham and the name change to COLOP UK are both now complete and proving very successful.
Kiran D Mistry MBA, Managing Director of Colop UK, says: "Chris was a key part of the team which brought together the former Mark C Brown and William Jones Clifton businesses. I would like to publicly record my thanks to him for the role he played in that process and of course wish him the very best of luck for his retirement."
Chris Brown adds: "The industry has been good to me and along the way I have made many friends, amongst customers, suppliers and our colleagues in the industry all over the world.
"They say 65 is the new middle-age, so it will be no surprise that I have decided to keep up something in the way of work, and it's still in rubber. I've started an internet business, Quick Fist Clamps, selling a novel product invented and made by an old colleague in the industry - and they're made from rubber. I am sure that small job, along with touring in my new Motorhome and many other interests will keep me occupied; hopefully for years to come."
Colop CEO, Ernst Faber says: "Chris was the MD of our first UK acquisition so our relationship stretches back a number of years. Everyone in our Austrian offices wishes him a long and happy retirement"
