Positive feedback for Tech Data Live at Mercedes Benz World

Tech Data welcomed over 600 delegates and representatives from vendor partners and Tech Data itself last week at site of the iconic Brooklands motor racing track, for a day of insights into the latest solutions and networking with key contacts.

The event, which Tech Data was staging for the first time, was supported by almost 50 vendors – including VMWare, Dell EMC, Apple, Google, Microsoft, IBM and HPE – and saw 24 breakout sessions running over the course of the day. An open-plan exhibition area allowed everyone to mix and mingle, making new contacts and strengthening existing relationships.

A live demo area showed the latest technologies in action, while a huge Twitter wall let everyone broadcast their messages about the event instantly.

In his welcoming address, David Watts challenged customers to find three ways in which Tech Data could be transformative for their business during the day. Initial feedback and comments indicate that they were able to do that easily – and benefited from attending Tech Data Live in many other ways, as the feedback below demonstrates.

Celine Naude, Head of Marketing Services said, "Tech Data Live was the perfect opportunity for customers to find out about the many different ways Tech Data, as a trusted advisor to their business, can help them grow sales, increase profits, manage costs and improve customer satisfaction. I'd like to thank everyone at Tech Data and all of our vendor partners that played a part in pulling this event together and made it a success."

Resellers gave very positive feedback on the event. Tim Mears, Managing Director of Axon IT said, "bringing all the vendors together in one place is really beneficial. It's a good networking opportunity but it's also good to talk to other partners and hear what works for them. In terms of the three things we will take away – one is that we need to build a closer relationship with Tech Data and utilise more of their resources; two is to continue the conversations with other trusted partners; and three is to find out more about Tech-as-a-Service, because that really fits with our business model."

Mike English, Managing Director of Cetus Solutions, said Tech Data Live had exceeded his expectations. He said, "there have been a lot of really interesting sessions. I've learned about a lot of things that I didn't know Tech Data did that we can take advantage of – such as StreamOne and pre-build, assembly and test. It's been great from an education perspective and getting closer to the vendors – it would take a year to see everyone we've seen here today. It's been time well spent."
