Nimans shares insight into security trends for 2020

Security including access control, CCTV and intruder solutions will be big hits this year according to Nimans who have set up a dedicated division to help resellers capture growing levels of sales success.

Body-worn cameras, smart buildings and low light colour imaging will be some of the hottest trends in 2020 as well as thermal and AI - part of a flourishing overall market which is set to double in value over the next five years.

Camilla Kirkham, Director of Sales for Security and AV, says IP-based technologies are a natural extension of a reseller's portfolio – and represent an easy expansion of their overall proposition.

She added, "we only launched the division in the Autumn of last year and overall demand and interest has exceeded our expectations. There's still lots of work to be done but resellers are beginning to fully understand and embrace the huge market potential.

"We've got some big plans for 2020, especially around training and accreditation to further support the reseller community.

"Data cabling companies, in particular, are leading the charge. They are doing all the hard work with the installations anyway so adding a camera endpoint is valuable additional revenue. This year will see further developments with body-worn cameras, colour imaging at night and also smarter and more integrated buildings. Nimans is ready.

"We are working with big name brands as well as different technologies to inspire, excite and educate the reseller community, based on Nimans' renowned industry pedigree. Our new team is packed with experience and know-how and has hit the ground running with lots of orders and interest generated so far."
