New focus and structure for Spicers

Following capital investments made to its network over the last 18 months, Spicers is focusing its energy on investing in people covering a number of different areas including, Marketing, Account Management, Financial Analysts and the Alliance Team.

As part of a strategic vision, the wholesaler invested in its network to keep up with future market place growth which it predicts will continue to change at an even faster rate than over recent years with Amazon business to business coming. Spicers also want to become more diverse by opening a much wider product range to its customers to allow them to compete.

Jeff Whiteway, SPOT Group CEO said, "over the last 18 months we have invested heavily in our network infrastructure in areas such as refit of the Central Distribution Centre, Greenwich, Glasgow and Manchester RDC's. The investments have ensured we have a robust, multi-site effective operation based around a mix of manual and mechanised processes, no single point of failure, giving us and our customers circa 50,000 product locations with a very agile and flexible operating model."

The company has launched its Alliance Programme over four Regional events, each held at the local Spicers site to showcase the network investments. Spicers has developed the Alliance programme around nine key pillars which help dealers remove cost, focus on sales through effective contact with the consumer, and improving profitability.

In order to stay relevant to all customers, Spicer will also be relaunching the Brilliant Partner Programme to help support loyal customers who want to work closely with Spicers and want to focus on price. To support the new look Spicers, the company has also made investment in people covering a number of different areas. The investment in both network and people has been implemented with no impact to the business and the focus is now very much customer centric, helping dealers grow both sales and bottom line.
