Midshire has been named Outstanding Large Business of the Year at the Solihull Annual Dinner and Awards 2017, which was helped by its charitable projects over the past year, including a Friends of North Solihull Christmas hamper campaign for the elderly, and large machine donations to Solihull Council and Troop Aid.
The inaugural evening was hosted by the Solihull Chamber of Commerce at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham Hotel on 19th October. Support for Balsall Common Primary School, Age UK Solihull, and a pupil at Arden School, small and large-scale sponsorship activity also contributed to Midshire’s win.
Danny Walden, Midshire’s Regional Sales Manager said, “as an active organisation within the Solihull community I can speak for everyone at Midshire when I say we are thrilled. Although Midshire has been recognised as a large enterprise, we will continue to operate with a local mentality, support local businesses, and offer an entirely personal service.”
Phil Powell, Managing Director at Midshire said, “we have always been passionate about working within the Solihull and wider Birmingham communities. We run Apprenticeship schemes and work experience placements year-round to give young people in the area the best start in their professional careers.”
“Looking to the future, we have just been acquired by global manufacturer Sharp. Although still in its infancy, I am extremely excited about what this strategic relationship will bring to our customers.”
Joan Smith, Solihull Chamber Director added, “I have worked with Danny and Midshire for many years now, they are so deserving, their work and investment within the community is very encouraging.”
