• Microsoft and Yealink team-up to share insight into future collaboration

        • Nimans’ resellers recently attended a Yealink and Microsoft ‘discovery session’ that took place at Microsoft’s UK HQ in Reading. At the special insight event, dozens of attendees learned about Yealink’s technology and growing partnership with Microsoft, as well as hearing from key industry experts.

Visitors saw the latest Microsoft ‘Intelligent Communications’ compatible products in action and met various teams, including high profile personnel from Yealink who flew in from China. They also had the chance to win Yealink’s new VC200 huddle video conferencing solution and its CP960 audio conferencing device.

The audience was also inspired by Microsoft’s Intelligent Communications Marketing Manager, Kerri Hollis, who outlined the future of collaboration trends, where Microsoft’s Teams platform is taking centre stage.

Kerri revealed how the modern workplace is changing, based on five generations of people needing to work seamlessly together, using multiple devices. By 2020 she said 72 per cent of people will work remotely. The average person checks their devices 150 times each day searching on 8-10 applications - and around 80 per cent of time is spent collaborating with others, Kerri emphasised.

Guests also heard about Yealink’s global pedigree and how 15 million products have been sold across the world. Yealink offers a phone for every scenario and has also developed an enhanced video conferencing portfolio that features the VC800, VC500 as well as the VC200 devices. Its WPP20 wireless content sharing dongle was also showcased.

Nimans’ Compendium IP end point management proposition fell under the spotlight, helping resellers to win, deliver and support their businesses. The event ended with a reseller’s perspective of the challenges and solutions that the latest communications trends throw up.

Randy Chapman from MeetingZone explained how it is vital to focus on the user experience as the best way to get people to want to use technology – and how Yealink helps him deliver that. The discovery session was hailed a resounding success by a Winchester-based reseller.

Randy said, “I was interested in the new product ranges particularly around UC collaboration. Today’s event has been a very valuable experience particularly around Microsoft Teams and Yealink’s continued research and development. This gives me the confidence and knowledge to take our own business further forward.”
