          Spicers has recruited E-commerce expert Jason Bridgewater to takes responsibility for its lead-generating Memoetc web platform. Joining Spicers from Halfords, where he was Director of E-Commerce, he will focus on the sites' future development, to support Reseller growth through this online initiative

          Sales Director Richard Ford says: "We had searched thoroughly to recruit specific expertise into these new roles where the individuals' core strengths and knowledge lies. It's an exciting time with Jason joining the business this week. There is a clear focus for us to work even closer alongside our Dealer Partners to help them benefit from the knowledge and the expertise our new starters bring."

          Following on from the appointment in December of Mike Holme to the position of Category Sales Director for Paper, Spicers has also confirmed extended investment in strategic category development.

          Alan Ball says: "By progressing with a team who will own the category development strategy to work as a conduit between our Commercial Team, customers and suppliers we can ensure the ongoing delivery of a product and service offering reflective of latest market trends and consumer need. This ensures our customers have the right proposition to take to market and service the demands of the consumer."

          Joining the new team from Newell Rubbermaid as Category Director will be Rebecca Stallard. Rebecca has an extensive background in category planning and product marketing across retail, online and reseller channels.

          Taking the lead in this new team, as a specialist for Furniture, will be David Orr under the title of Category Sales Director - Furniture. David has a vast experience of the sector as well as the Spicers business and customer base from his previous role at the Wholesaler as Sales & Marketing Director for Furniture. David has most recently worked for technology distributor, Exertis Gem.
