Langdown takes on major new 5 Star role
XPD's Managing Director David Langdown has been appointed as a trustee of the new 5 Star Charitable Trust; an initiative which has been set up to help raise money for charities nationwide.
For every 5 Star product sold, a proportion of the profit will be donated to the charitable trust. The trust will then make an annual donation across nominated local community charities. Based on current sales, Spicers anticipate that the donation will be around £50,000 in the first year, which will make a big difference to the selected charities.
The Board of Trustees will be chaired by Lord Digby Jones and will work to allocate funds to charities from nominations presented to the trust by dealers and consumers.
David Langdown, Managing Director at XPD, comments: "I am very happy to be part of this wonderful initiative, the scale of which is completely unique in our industry. Through Officepoint and Officestar we have long been major supporters of the 5 Star brand and it's great that its profile will be raised through the Charitable Trust. The message to dealers is that the more 5 Star products that they can sell, the higher the profile it will attain and the more money they will raise for charitable causes from within their own local communities."
