Ingram Micro UK & Ireland has announced that Rebecca Benzie, Head of SMB sales has been awarded with the company’s most prestigious individual honor for outstanding leadership and dedication to philanthropic service. The award ceremony took place at Ingram Micro headquarters in Irvine, California, on 25th January.
The Martha Ingram Leadership Award is an annual award which recognises outstanding performances of individuals who demonstrate leadership, commitment, integrity and trust at work, and who also support the company’s philanthropic activities and/or contribute to local communities outside the company. Rebecca Benzie is one of the first individuals to receive this prestigious award within the European region.
Rebecca Benzie, Head of SMB Sales said, “in October 2015 I met with a partner who was taking part in Byte Night, a night where IT companies sleep rough to raise money for Action for Children. It was this night where we decided to put together a team to support and raise money for Action for Children. During the sleepout we decided that 2016 would be the year that we would raise as much funds as we could for this charity.
“Throughout the year we completed Half Marathons, climbed Mount Snowdon, took part in a 24 hour Bikeathon, a Christmas Raffle alongside some other company wide events. One of our most rewarding activities was donating over 500 Christmas presents to children centres around Milton Keynes. As an individual I feel very humbled to have been recognised as an individual, however, without the amazing charity committee and Ingram Micro associates I could not have done it without them.”
