• HP opens new Reading headquarters

        • HP has opened its new headquarters in the refurbished Earley Buildings at Thames Valley Park.

Employees based at the site represent all major functions: Category, Customer Support, Finance, HPStore, HR, IT, Legal, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Strategy and Planning, as well as a significant Sales and Pre-sales population. In addition, most of the UK’s leadership team are based out of the HP Reading office, leading many of the functions mentioned above.

MP Matt Warman, Government Minister for Digital said, “it is great to see that global tech giant HP has renewed its commitment to the UK by opening a new headquarters in Reading. The UK is one of the world’s leading digital economies, with a hugely talented workforce, a business-friendly environment and fantastic universities. This Government is working hard to continue this success with huge skills, infrastructure and R&D investment.”

The office was designed to accommodate a wide variety of working patterns, offering a combination of fixed and mobile desks, a large variety of formal and informal meeting rooms, along with many collaboration areas. The versatility of the space means that every part of the business has a work environment that caters to its needs. The new location also has great commuting links, including a regular free shuttle bus from Reading Station, which is a mere 25 minutes to London Paddington by train.

George Brasher, UK&I MD, HP added, “the new Thames Valley Park office is the latest chapter in HP’s long history in the UK. As well as the Park being home to existing partners of ours, such as Microsoft and Computacenter, the whole Thames Valley region represents the heartbeat of this country’s tech sector. The continued presence of our HQ in Berkshire will ensure we are as accessible as can be for our partners and the wider industry.”

Drawing inspiration from the leafy nature reserve on which the business park is located, the office has been decorated with natural colours, wood and a living moss wall in reception, among other features. The new office has also been designed with the goal of achieving a BREEAM ‘very good’ environmental certificate, aligning with HP’s company-wide sustainability objectives.
