Brother UK has appointed Ged Cairns to lead a newly formed business unit focused on delivering AutoID solutions to the market.
Ged's appointment comes as the business formalises its range of AutoID services, designed to support end-users with barcode printing and mobile Point of Sale (m-POS).
Working alongside Brother's established mobile print and labelling teams, he'll develop new systems for existing and new channel partners. The new solutions will be designed to support customers in sectors including retail and logistics, alongside businesses in other markets with large field sales functions.
Ged Cairns, Head of AutoID Solutions at Brother UK said, "Brother and its partners are in a perfect position to capitalise on the growing AutoID services market, with an excellent range of mobile solutions and a significant share of markets like retail, logistics, healthcare and B2B focused industries. Over the coming months we'll be working with new and existing channel partners to build out our portfolio of AutoID solutions for end customers."
Ged has over 30 years' experience in the AutoID industry, with previous roles at Psion Teklogix and Datamax-O'Neil. He joins Brother from Honeywell, where he was EMEA Sales Manager and responsible for day-to-day sales of thermal print products across the region, supporting relationships with clients including Nestle and Coca-Cola HBC.
Andy Johnson, Head of Product Management at Brother UK added, "Ged has strong expertise and experience in this area and will be a fantastic asset to us as we look to better establish our AutoID offering and open up new revenue opportunities for our partners."
