Apogee is working alongside former Royal Marine Barry Gray as part of its Sales Development Programme.
A former Royal Marines Commando, Barry served for 26 years, stationed across various countries. His passion for adventure has led him to complete the Challenge Antarctica in 2018, he skied solo and unsupported to the South Pole.
With a wealth of experience in high-pressure situations, Barry is hoping to bring a fresh perspective to Apogee. He will be working directly with sales teams across the UK, aiming to increase productivity and staff wellbeing through individual resilience, coaching and team management training.
Carl Day, Director of Sales and Marketing at Apogee said, "I've been fortunate enough to work with Baz previously and seen first-hand the influence he can have on teams given the achievements he has accomplished over the year. I'm delighted we have brought him in to work with the teams at Apogee, we know that his background and skill set will help our teams to develop resilient mindsets that form part of our wider Sales Development strategy."
For the past eight years, Barry has been offering impactful training programmes for many large global organisations.
Barry said, "every team member is different, so my aim is to ensure all managers understand how to get the best performance out of every individual."
A keen and passionate public speaker, Barry offers motivational talks and speaks to school children about life, adventure, and resilience, previously partnering with Speakers 4 Schools. Barry also lectures on Polar History, with the life of Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton being a favourite speciality.
