Effective Consumable Solutions issues ISO reminder

Effective Consumable Solutions has expressed concerns over products being produced by UK 'remanufacturers' who lack appropriate ISO certification.

ECS has highlighted the importance of ISO certification, explaining that companies with ISO 9001 certification have essentially 'raised the bar' by producing products and providing services that meet certain industry standards and requirements. It advises that companies who value quality as a major factor when purchasing a product should avoid doing so from a remanufacturer without ISO certification.

The company also explained that those who remanufacture and produce sub-standard products without suitable certification can also negatively affect the integrity and reputation of other genuine remanufacturers.

Chris Fink, Director said, "we often find that one of the major barriers when it comes to finding new business is companies past experiences with below standard, uncertified remanufactured products, which in turn gives other remanufacturers who are certified a bad name."

ECS holds both 14001 and 9001 ISO certifications, which cover quality management standards and environmental management systems respectively. The remanufacturer is also working towards ISO 27001 certification, which is a specification for an information security management system, relating to all legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisations information risk management processes. The company hopes to have achieved ISO 27001 early in 2020.
