• DAMS to launch AMevo e-commerce solution at EXPO 2015

        • Furniture manufacturer and wholesaler, DAMS, says it is to revolutionise the way that dealers sell office furniture online, thanks to a new customisable e-commerce solution that the company will unveil at its forthcoming EXPO 2015 events.

          The company has worked closely with e-commerce specialist, Evolution Software, and its data & content division, FusionPLUS Data, to develop the new AMevo webstore solution.

          It will enable dealers to have a live site fully operational within just 2-4 weeks, including with set-up and training. Each site can be customised with the dealer’s own logo, colour scheme and banners, and will include enriched DAMS content and flexible pricing tools.

          The move follows an extensive investment in data configuration by DAMS which will enable dealers to ‘turn on’ the DAMS catalogue within all back-office and webstore solutions that already centrally manage the FusionPLUS Data set. The newly ‘Fusion-ised’ DAMS product file and associated images will also be made available in a format that would enable any dealer to import into all other systems using their in-built import routines. All data will be free of charge.

          Explains managing director of DAMS, Chris Scott: “In the past, shopping cart solutions for office furniture have been notoriously difficult to manage because there are so many options for selection and adding new lines as they become available from manufacturers and wholesalers was an onerous task.

          “The work we have done on configuring high quality product data, along with a significant investment in photography, means that end users will be able to select the exact combination of product features they want and see an image of their chosen selection on screen before they click the buy button.

          “Evolution Software has developed the AMevo webstore to include real time pricing calculations and has even incorporated a discount code and contract customer pricing option per customer to make online ordering quicker and simpler for both dealers and their customers.”

          Members of the Evolution Software and FusionPLUS Data teams will be on hand to demonstrate the new AMevo solution to dealers at DAMS’ EXPO 2015 events, which take place in Birmingham on 9th September, Manchester on 15th September, Berkshire on 22nd September and Glasgow on 30th September. They will also be available to discuss the advantages of DAMS’ data management approach for all systems users and outline the full functionality of the new AMevo service.

          The AMevo e-commerce solution has been designed for ease of use by customers, with fully responsive design that is optimised for all screen sizes (PC, tablet, or mobile). It also includes search capability by range or category leading to dropdown menus for size, colour and feature options.

          The system has the ability to create customer-specific pricing, purchase orders, invoicing, and complex shipping, even enabling dealers to set their own margins and pricing by range and customer.
