ANTALIS - Europe's leading distributor of paper, packaging solutions and visual communication products
Antalis, the UK’s leading supplier of communication materials for the office, print, sign & display and packaging sectors and part of the Antalis Group, is the largest paper merchant in Europe which carries out 14,000 deliveries every day, distributing 1.7 million tonnes of paper per year on a global level across 43 countries.
At the heart of the Antalis UK offering is its extensive portfolio of over 13,000 products which range from the most innovative, advanced and creative substrates to some of the most frequently used every day office supplies. From products such as envelopes, paper to suit every application, printer and multi-functional device and consumables for the office sector, through to packaging, promotional and visual communications products, customers know they have to ‘Just Ask Antalis’. And, with 16 distribution centres across the UK and Ireland, availability and delivery is never a problem.
Customer-First
Product innovation and customer service lie at the heart of the company and it has been the expertise, attitude and dedication of its staff that has given Antalis its unrivalled reputation in the office sector. Going beyond the role of a supplier, the Antalis sales and account teams offer advice on the latest products, ongoing assistance in managing stocks and delivery programmes as well as provide a range of promotional support materials, product selection guides and online carbon calculators to help resellers promote and sell Antalis products. In addition, Antalis runs the Digital Academy, a centre of excellence and hub of educational information exchange equipped with the latest digital technology that offers live demonstrations, courses, seminars and workshops for anyone interested in maximising the potential of digital print.
Global Brand extends product portfolio
Central to Antalis’ success is maintaining the very best product range, enabling the company to offer customers the latest innovations backed by its renowned customer service. In 2013, Antalis acquired Xerox’s Western European Office Paper Distribution business, significantly enhancing the company’s office product offering through the distribution of Xerox-branded paper and print media. With its instantly recognisable global brand, and proven heritage in the office and print sectors, the Xerox range of premium office papers provides resellers and their customers a product portfolio they can trust. The scope and breadth of the Xerox product range caters for every possible application, from general every day entry-level copier papers, to top quality premium grades, recycled, coloured and textured papers through to a selection of creative products such as Xerox Nevertear and Xerox FunFlip that give an extra value-added dimension to the range. This allows dealers a point of differentiation and a focus for steering sales conversations beyond that of price alone.
Xerox FunFlip, for example, is a unique pre-creased and perforated sheet with adhesive strips. After printing and folding, it produces an eye-catching multi-revealing presentation piece with four separate views that can be used as novel business cards, company and product promotional materials. Similarly, Xerox Nevertear is another offering from the Xerox range comprising a matte white polyester film that can be printed. It’s durable, tear and water resistant composition makes it ideal for frequently handled documents, such as menus, promotional cards, labels and luggage tags.
Carrying the Credentials
Following its customer-first philosophy, Antalis has put in place strict policies and procedures including ISO 14001 certification for environmental management, the Carbon Trust Standard for reduced carbon emissions, and ‘chain of provenance’ FSC and PEFC certified standards.
One such demonstration of Antalis helping customers uphold their environmental commitment is by linking its Green Star System with its partnership with Forest Carbon, the UK’s leading developer of Woodland creation projects. By combining the aims of the Green Star System and Forest Carbon,
Antalis’ Forest Carbon Initiative allows customers to reduce their paper carbon emissions to zero, simply by purchasing products that qualify for the Forest Carbon programme. These ‘carbon credits’ enable Forest Carbon to plant new trees across the UK, meaning customers can offset their emissions and ‘give back to nature’. The credits are certified under the UK Woodland Carbon Code, are not part of any statutory Kyoto Protocol or international trading scheme and are generated purely by voluntary buyers to offset their own or their customers’ local emissions in the UK. Resellers can also use the Forest Carbon logo on their marketing collateral, to promote their own environmental agenda.
The Antalis Green Star System is an easy to understand environmental classification system to help customers quickly identify eco-responsible papers. Based on the universally-recognised star ranking reference, the system indicates levels of eco-responsibility and provides data on the origin of the fibre and manufacturing process by attributing a number of green stars, from zero to five, to each paper product according to its environmental credentials.
With the challenges that face the office reseller today, Antalis remains 100% committed to providing a world class portfolio of products, a customer service that is second to none, and the foresight and investment to continue to look at new and innovative ways of providing added value to help meet the ongoing demands of the market.
