Commercial's fundraising team of seven have completed their 500-mile cycle in a bid to raise £25,000 for the charity Versus Arthritis. The #500infive team cycled from Commercial's head office in Cheltenham on Saturday 8th June to the company's Leeds office, then on to the London office, finishing back in Cheltenham on Wednesday 12th June.
They raised just over £16,000 for Versus Arthritis which is a community of volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers and friends that provides support for people living with arthritis across the UK. It supports world-class research and breakthrough treatments.
Aaron George, who joined Commercial through the Commercial Foundation No Limits programme, has had the condition for many years and was the inspiration behind the 500-mile cycle. Cheering Alan Martin, Andrew McKenzie, Liam Dutson, Mark Hallett, Kevin Ablett, Mark Butchers andLee Williams at the finish line, Aaron said, "I'm inspired by every single one of them. What they've done for Versus Arthritis is just amazing, and they have great team spirit and an incredible bond."
Adrian Williams, Community Relationships Manager at Versus Arthritis added, "I'm in awe of these guys, they've done a fantastic job. They have raised not just an incredible amount of money, but they've also done an amazing job to raise awareness of a very unpopular condition."
