ISO 9001 for RED BOX
RED BOX, the leading independent office supplies dealer, has achieved ISO 9001 accreditation. The company says the process has enabled it to
'formalise and independently acknowledge that it is committed to delivering the highest standards of quality to its diverse customer base'.
Unusually, RED BOX decided to embark on the project with the minimum of outside help which is the recommended approach. Operations Director Tracey Campbell says: "We could have so easily have hired a team of consultants to come in and tell us everything we needed to do to pass the assessments, but we felt it was much more beneficial to us to work through the project on our own and take advantage of the skills and talents of our team."
Managing Director Gordon Christiansen says: "Quality has always been the focus of what RED BOX does. The ISO 9001 accreditation process has enabled us to benchmark our business processes and demonstrates our commitment to quality and continuous improvement in all our operations. Many organisations after certification end up with two incongruous management systems. Our approach has been to integrate the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard with our existing tried and tested practice."
The company plans to gain ISO 14001 certification before the end of 2010 to complement its quality management system and enhance the company’s position for future growth.
