Canon has launched the next edition of its third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform with new version 3.8 firmware. Developed with Canon's Multi-Function Printers (MFP) range in mind, the thirf edition of the third-generation platform provides upgrades across every device in the imageRUNNER ADVANCE series.
Secure by Design
With data protection becoming an increasingly high priority for businesses of all sizes, the 3rd edition imageRUNNER ADVANCE incorporates a range of preventative measures to empower businesses to get ahead of security vulnerabilities.
Additional security features now include verification of system at start up. Users can safely open programmes based on Root of Trust (ROT). This innate security feature hinders hackers from being able to side-step the security mechanisms of MFPs, which hold some of an organisations most valuable information.
Adam Poole, B2B Marketing & Sales Excellence Director, Canon UK said, "committed to delivering the latest innovations in office technology, Canon's latest hardware and software is designed to enhance productivity through intelligent document workflows within the most demanding office environments. Our connected MFP strategy is linked to enhancing Canon's customer digital office ecosystem and deliver unbeatable user experience and seamless support and services."
Manage and integrate
Responding to the need of businesses to improve agility and their capacity to operate from anywhere, the devices will be fitted with a QR-Code Direct Connection, allowing iOS users to set Wi-Fi for direct connection through either a default iOS camera app or Canon PRINT Business (CPB) camera feature, improving mobile interaction and flexibility.
Adam said, "as information management continues to move to digital channels, we wanted to offer our customers more control than ever before, of both processes and costs. The 3rd edition imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform saves time and resource while increasing productivity with efficient workflows and intuitive ease of use. Our Connected MFP strategy enables proactive management and continual optimisation of print infrastructure, while the increased visibility helps address the complete document lifecycle."
Device management for modern working
To further support its customers, Canon's cloud-based solution, uniFLOW Online is being updated alongside the latest portfolio.
Adam added, "we recognise that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits all solution for businesses. This is why we have worked to ensure that the imageRUNNER ADVANCE third generation, 3rd edition provides a completely tailored service to all of our clients, thanks to its support of a wide range of models and integrated solutions designed to work seamlessly together."
