Blake has appointed Alun Smith as Quality and Compliance Manager. Alun has been with Blake for twelve years and his promotion shows Blake’s desire to maintain and advance quality and compliance within the business.
In his new role, Alun has focused specifically on product quality by ensuring suppliers are scrutinised and accountable at all stages. Supplier rationalisation together with weekly checks on production samples, random spot checks on deliveries and new box and pallet labelling, are all helping to guarantee quality to customers.
Michael Barter, Managing Director said, “we wanted to continue to shape the business in a strong and confident way by focusing on one of the area’s that make Blake great. We are known for the quality of our products and service and Alun’s appointment is a clear commitment that we intend to continue to grow this reputation in uncertain times.”

The new role continues the company’s recent investment in the Blake’s management structure with the recent appointment of Graham Carlin as General Manager.
