Bates' Longhorn sets up new consultancy
As of this month a new business has been operating in the office supplies market, The Longhorn Consultancy. It was set up by Neil Longhorn, former Sales and Marketing Director at Bates Office.
Whilst at Bates, he was part of the team that oversaw the development of the Company from a regional, mid-sized, independent dealer with a £4.5m turnover to a £14m national player; in just four years.
He says the new Consultancy is looking to fill a niche in the market, by taking the ideas and theory a lot further than others and actually engaging with the target market, as well as developing the skills of existing and potential employees. Based in Kent, they will work with dealers across the UK.
Neil Longhorn says: "It is all about strategy and infrastructure. We need to find a way to differentiate ourselves from all the other suppliers out there; and then we need to make sure that all of our sales boys and girls know what to do next and are singing from the same hymn sheet!"
