A group of colleagues at Antalis cycled over 500 miles on exercise bikes in their head office, on 30th September, in aid of children and young person’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.
The team took part in the bikeathon in support of a member of staff who is currently being supported by the charity, and other fundraising initiatives included a cuddly toy sale, staff raffle, cake sweepstake, and a special bake sale.
Dan Turner, Head of Office Channel for Antalis said, “it’s difficult to imagine the series of emotions a family goes through on hearing news like this and the work that CLIC Sargent undertakes to support such families is vital. It was wonderful to see the team come together with such spirit to complete the challenge, supporting both our colleague and this wonderful charity, and we were thrilled to almost double our fundraising target of £1,700 and raise over £3,000.”
CLIC Sargent provides emotional, practical and financial support to young cancer patients and families during and after treatment, as well as working with service providers and policy makers to improve the quality of care. The total amount raised was over £3,000 which will fund the family support packages, offered by the charity immediately after families receive the news that their child has been diagnosed with cancer.
